The Killer Dress: Black or Red?
October 2, 2008 No Comments
There are dresses then they are killer dresses.
A dress can be any color, with patterns that flow in strident directions or circle round and round. But a killer dress? There are only two colors: Red or black.
You want to stand out, but often times the dresses do more than flatter the form, they scream it out in a way that’s well, not kosher.
But there are some colors that scream for attention: Red or Black.
Red has long been legendary and calls to mind the inner body, the flesh, the heart. Blood. Crimson. Roses. There is something organic about a red dress. It also possesses a sensuality, a scandalous flair, scarlet, fire.
But black? It is bold. It is absolute. It is impregnable. It covers, it envelopes. It shapes. It forms. Black makes a statement: Finality. The End. Death. But this is a happy post. These two colors stand at the polar extremes of style, and you can’t have it both ways.
Which one will it be ladies, red or black?
