The average size of a U.S. woman: 14

The media’s refusal to acknowledge the invisible woman is crazy. Who is the invisible woman? In America, she’s a size 14 and 162 pounds, on average (The L.A. Times article says the average U.S. male is 189 pounds).

The first inclination is to say, whoa, somebody’s been eatin’, but on deeper inspection you have to remember: The average American woman today is a multicolored, multiethnic hodgepodge of the world’s greatest people, most notably, African-American, European-American, Asian-American, Mexican-American, and so on.

All these different people have, historically and culturally, different eating patterns, metabolisms and what not. Of course, we can’t underestimate the power of McDonalds as well.

People need to know that is not about sizes or average sizes , is about health. Obviously, every body knows that if you’re 5’4 and 187 pounds=obese. An obese woman is prompt to get heart diseases. Let’s not even add that you cannot exercise like someone in a healthily weight, get tire, etc. That article about 162 pound and being size 14 depends on the body and height. Some women would even have to wear size 16. Stop thinking about Average and sizes and start thinking about health. And don’t give the excuse that you have been fat all your life because I was and now I’m a size 2 and 4 and feel healthier and happier than ever!!Another tip, women in america died more of heart problmens than breast cancer. Wake up!!

Let’s just say it like it really is: people are just lazier and fatter than ever before. The number one killer of American’s is hearth disease and this is because of the obesity rates. People need to get off their fat-asses, exercise and eat properly. And stop complaining that it’s because of your genetic makeup. It’s because you are lazy and eat crap.

at 162, i wonder what the average height is, because that has a lot to do with it.but nice to know the average is a 14. I heard Marilyn Monroe wasn’t skinny too, but i’ve forgotten her dress size.

Ha! Don’t forget about genetics as well. Some of us are thick in places, and when we gain weight those places just get all the more thicker. I think its a great thing. Weight isn’t necessarily a marker of health, and not everyone has the desire to be stick thin.

one of my friends told me the other day I was the average size of an American woman…I couldn’t decipher if that was a good or bad thing, considering Americans are known for their gluttony (which I am not)…so I stopped thinking about it LOL
