The Big Shave-Off: Would You?

When long-delayed-album Bad Boy recording artist Cassie half-shaved her hair off last week it signaled the emergence of a new radical style among women.
Women everywhere started to go to their barbers and salons and request half-off, or the “fiddy cut”. Taking it all off is not as popular (of course, if Beyonce did it, it’d take off), but beautiful black women such as India Irie have not exactly ushered in a fashion movement.
For many women, losing their locs and long mane (even if it’s weave), which many have had since they were little, is a traumatic experience in the beginning. It’s important not to stare or worse, to compare them to others with long hair. Why? Because EVERYONE is beautiful. Or as the Lil Wayne mantra goes, “long hair, don’t care.” (there, I said it.)
But the question is, would you do it? Would you do the Big-Shave-Off?
