Meagan Good to produce ‘Video Girl’
March 3, 2010 2 CommentsHollywood actress Meagan Good will take a turn behind the cameras, producing “Video Girl,” a film about, well, video girls. The film will star such highly esteemed video stars (I’m using the words loosely here) as Esther Baxter, who’s claim to fame is Petey Pablo’s “Freak-A-Leek” and Hollywood socialite Claudia Jordan, the black Kardashian.
Good, who got her first major part in “Eve’s Bayou,” is taking her acting chops and stepping behind the camera for this one. She recently said the stereotype of making it in Hollywood overnight is just that — a stereotype.
“I think with the people that they talk about who do waitress and who came from a small town and they hit it big, it appears if it may have happened overnight, or that they just got discovered and their career took off, but in actuality, that person was probably waitressing for years and auditioning for years and had several smaller parts here and there before they got on something where they were discovered and things took off,” she said in an interview with Stumped Magazine. ”I think, yeah, the appearance that it happens over night is not realistic for anybody, except maybe for Edward Furlong when he got put in Terminator 2.
The film sounds like a vanity project, but who knows? Could Meagan bring home an Oscar? Meyer? Weiner?
