“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” season 3 (photos)

The time is almost here. A new season of Atlanta housewives causing mayhem across the city. Never mind that there’s nary a housewife in the bunch. It’s going to be fun.

Gone is Lisa Wu Hartwell, who wanted the show to be called “Lisa and the Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

Back are Kandi Burruss, Sheree’ Whitfield, the recently Greg-less Nene Leakes and beach babe Kim Zolciak.

New to the mix are Cynthia Bailey and Phaedra Parks, the only two “housewives” that are actually wives.

Parks has been in showbiz for a minute now and is a powerful entertainment attorney in Atlanta. She got married last year so the show details her first year of matrimony.

Bailey tied the knot earlier this year and the Bravo cameras were rolling to catch it all.

But can Season 3 top the pure fockery of the first two seasons? Will it be the same with Wu Hartwell?

Cynthia Bailey actually has a longer Hollywood resume than anyone on the reality show. She’s been on the scene since the mid 1990s and is more familiar to the Sanaa Lathan/black Hollywood set than to this new reality TV stuff. She’s been a fashion model for years, working with fashion campaigns for Essence Magazine, Oil of Olay and Mabelline.

Hollywood beckoned though as she landed appearances on shows as diverse as “The Cosby Show” and “Soul Train.”

Phaedra Parks, a lawyer by trade, is no stranger to the camera. She’s the executive producer of “The Tiny & Toya Show”. She’s been enlisted by nearly all the top celebrities in Atlanta, including T.I., Bobby Brown and more. Yet, she wasn’t the first choice for RHOA producers. They originally wanted longtime soap actress Victoria Rowell to be the show, but they couldn’t pull it off.

Parks will have ample time to show off her tenacity she uses in the courtroom. Look out, Nene.
