It is with reasonable trepidation that I ask your opinion on the following: Is multi-colored hair okay?
I mean we all know that a number of factors come into play when it comes to deciding what hairstyle you should rock: Culture, occupation, image, even head shape (or even your favorite Skittles flavor).
But is it ever okay to mix the colors of the rainbow into your skull? And if so, which way do you comb something like that?
I mean, would you hire someone who had at least three different pastels in their follicles? I mean, long live the weave but I need to understand the motivation and reasonings behind the current trends of haircare that are circulating out there.
Am I old fashioned? Or is the peacock the “in” thing right now?

When it comes to a time of gift-giving we don’t see why Christmas is any different from New Years, or Sweetest Day (Detroit, stand up!), or an off day for that matter. When I first caught a whiff of a woman wearing Chanel No. 5, it took me by surprise: She flew by me — we were passing through a duty-free shop in Toronto — in such a hurry she didn’t even notice she scarf whack me in the face.
Upon further realization, it wasn’t the scarf, but the Chanel.
Debuting in 1921, Chanel No. 5 has been dubbed “the world’s most legendary frangrance.”
It gets its name from French madame Gabrielle “CoCo” Chanel.
Before Chanel, most perfumes were derived from natural oils such as balsam and flower extracts.

You thought it was just the girls with the weave?
So did I, but apparently, there is a burgeoning demand for hair pieces for men. It may come from the underrated market for men’s hair due to male pattern baldness, but whatever it’s sources. It’s here to stay, aint we aint talkin’ bout hair wars.
Now, don’t get me wrong; men have been wearing wigs for years, but it’s never been a huge market for young people. Now, it’s growing Lfrom the retirement set down to young people.
But, you, what about you? Would you be cool with dating a man who wore a wig?

First of all, we can’t count Oprah Winfrey, because her show is not considered “primetime.” If it did, then this wouldn’t even be close.
But Tyra Banks is the No. 1 earner among women on primetime TV, according to Forbes.
While there are other aspiring media moguls out there, none of them have pulled it together across such a broad spectrum as T. Banks.
Tyra, who has become a poster child for fake hair and real shapes among women, pulls in $30 million for her talk show, endorsements, and of course ANTM. She was followed by Katherine Heigl, who pulled in $18 million. Check out the top woman earners list and see if you’re on there (wink).

As the audiences hee and haw at Chris Rock’s “Good Hair,” a look inside the hairstory of black women, many are taking aim at someone on the sidelines: Chris Rock’s wife.
Malaak Compton-Rock has been scrutinized heavily (and that’s putting it nicely) since her husband’s film came out. She’s notably absent from the documentary, many say, and it’s because she wears exactly what Rock makes fun of in the film: A weave.

Comments range from: L”I didn’t know his wife had ‘good hair.’

Others say: “His daughters don’t like their hair because their own Mamma is sporting weave and a perm…”

The posts can get pretty brutal.

I say give the woman a break. It’s not her documentary, it’s her husband’s, and he’s a comedian.

You’ve been told for ages how bad a perm is for your hair, but now the debate has switched to plain ole long hair. PERIOD. Nothing is safe.

It’s been the summer of the shave-off for many women across the land. First the celebrities, (Cassie, Rihanna, etc.) then the regular folks.
Is this the end for the long, luxurious weave?
Women have been wearing it extra long since the 1970s, when posters of the lion-like mane of Farrah Fawcett used to be in every bar, restaurant and male teenage bedroom.
The long weave in essence owes its popularity to the European archtype of beauty, glowing locks of tuft curls or stalks of straight hair all down the back.
But now things are changing.
Women have pretty much rebelled against the acidic perm and are going au naturale with abandon.
Is it a wrap for the long, European-style weave?

A woman in Kansas City, Mo., is probably in church this morning bowed in prayer … or at her hair salon crying and hugging her hairstylist after her hair weave stopped a jealous ex-boyfriend’s bullet.
I didn’t know weave could be woven so tight, but if so, then perhaps bullet-proof vests could be layered with the material (Nothing like that good “Indonesian” to stop a crazed madman).
Evidently, the ex-boo thought that since he couldn’t have her, nobody should and took a shot at her head. What’s more disturbing is that she was apparently set up! Read the account right here. We knew there were bullet-proof bras out there, but now is this now an incentive to wear tightly woven weave?
